First, marine propane grills have been used for 50 years and can have out of control grease fires. The original prototype has actually been tested on the water for 8 years now. All the plastic material is very thick and flame retardant while all the propane components are UL listed. At full blast a 20lb tank will last 20+ hours of usage. Many places (tailgates, beaches, etc) don't allow wood burning fire pits.
